HOW PREPARE THE DFRL EXAM AND WHICH BOOK BETTER THIS EXAM

The Defence food research Laboratory (DFRL) is an organisation under DRDO that provides for various academic programmes, post graduate diploma courses and other training programmes.
Their are ceratin training programmes with continuing education programme and refresher courses on an yearly basis for services and DRDO Defence personnel to upgrade their skills and broaden their knowledge .
ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES:
1. Ph.D programmes in food Science and Technology
2. Post graduate diplomas (PGD) in Food Analysis & quality Assurance
3.Annual intake of 25 students (open to students all over india ).
4.Course commences in September
5. Entrance test is conducted in August
Following is the qualification that is required for admission into the academic courses of DFRL:
The candidates should have a minimum Degree in Science with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects or Degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary Science/Home Science/Nutrition and Dietetics/Food and Nutrition/Food Science and Nutrition securing a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Students who have obtained B.Sc. Degree (correspondence) and Engineering degrees like B.Tech/BE are not eligible.
THe ways by which you can prepare for the test are :
1. Read all the general knowledge books from verbal to non verbal
2. grammar of english '
3. Reading all electronic books and marking important points.
Major book for study shall be Gate book of communication and electronics. '
For englisg grammar, book of Author Wren and Martin.
And for Book of Genral apptitude constituiting both staic and dynamic Gk: Arihant latest Edition.
The scheme of the examination is as follows:
Paper I
Food Chemistry and Analysis : 100 marks
Paper II
Basic Food Microbiology :100 marks
Paper III
Sampling Techniques,Food Laws and Instrumental Methods of Food analysis: 100Marks
The Duration of each exam is 3 Hours .
PRACTICALS
I. Chemical Analysis of Foods
- Max. 100 marks
- 12 hrs spread on two days
II. Microbiological Analysis of Foods
- Max. 100 marks
– 18 hrs spread on 3 days
