How should a student decide what specialization he must take within Computer Science?
It is mostly about your passion or interest. These specialisations don't differ in terms of complexity or in terms of resource requirements. So these are all futuristic technologies and all of them have very good opportunities in the field. Most of the companies are looking for these cutting edge skills in the student and in terms of compensation also they are similar.
Few of the examples which will help to decide the specialisation of your interest are:
Gaming and Virtual Reality: applications of gaming are the games you play on your mobile or internet and of virtual reality applications where you develop multidimensional reality applications which are useful for security, enhancing the learn ability and useful for many other domains. So if you feel interested and excited that you want to work in developing games and new virtual reality applications using different hardware then you must go for this particular specialisation.
So, when it comes to AI applications many students are excited about this particular specialisation because of the reason that this is considered the top most revenue earner now. The top most investment done by business in this field so most of the people who are skilled with AI skills can work with AI Engineers or work as AI Designers. So they will either try to make a machine learning model or try to improve the accuracy of the AI Application for different industries. For example, if you are using your human assistant in your phone so as of now it is not perfect. It is working well, but you will try to make it more adaptive, more localised, more accurate. So there are many more applications which are related to AI and if you get excited about it and want to help the society in developing new applications then you can go for it.
Robotics and Automation Specialisation: it has its own set of applications. If you are interested in developing robotics, in working with drones, working with IOT and small sensors to develop different applications related to health sciences, disaster avoidance, rescue and help and many other then you can go for it.
So, you need to find what excites you, what you are passionate about.
