To become a data scientist you can do a course in data science. mostly data science is a master course done after your BTech so you have to first get a bachelor of Technology degree in Computer science and then master degree in data science to become a data scientist however you can also become a data scientist after your BTech only if you have gained the skill set on yourself by using the resources available online.
in that case you might find it hard to get placement as most of the good companies visit for campus placement in top colleges like it is it is better if you get a masters degree from an IIT to increase your chances to get placed.
