How to become a forest officer

You need to appear for IFS Exam in order to become an Indian Forest Service Officer(one of the services of three All India Services, other two are IAS/IPS) for which the eligibility criteria as laid out by UPSC is as follow-
Passed Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/Forestry/ Engineering/Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology of a recognized university or equivalent.
The minimum age limit is to attain 21 years as on 1st August of the appearing year, the upper age limit is 32 years, however relaxation is offered such as for SC/ST/defence services personnel/ECOs/SSCOs/J&K domiciled from 1st January 1980 till 31st December 1989/Ex-Servicemen it's upto five years, for OBC it's upto three years/
The exam is conducted in three phases of mainly preliminary, mains and interview.

If you want to be forest officer, then, you need to either sit for the respective state services examination or you can opt for UPSC IFS Examination. Indian Forest Services exam is conducted by UPSC.
The eligibility criteria for UPSC IFS states that:
Candidates need to have bachelors degree preferably in the field of Animal Husbandry, Botany, Chemistry, Geology or relevant subjects. Candidates need to in age between 21-32 years.
UPSC IFS exam consists of Preliminary Examinations, Mains examination followed by Personality test. Candidates need to qualify all the stages to be in the coveted list.
