Step 4: Qualify Union Public Service Commission Examination
Description: After successful completion of a bachelor’s degree programme, candidates become eligible for appearing in UPSC examination. They are required to prioritise the areas of civil services, they want to join after selection such as Income Tax Officer, Indian Administration Services, Indian Foreign Services, Indian Police Services and other roles.
Candidates who qualify UPSC prelims examination are eligible for appearing in UPSC Prelims examination. On qualifying mains examination, they are called for interviews. Final selection for Union Public Service Commission Examination is made through evaluation of candidates performance in the interviews.
UPSC Examination attempts: Candidates of general category can make 6 attempts till the age of 32 years. Candidates of OBC category can make 9 attempts till the age of 35. Candidates of ST/SC category can make unlimited attempts till the age of 37 years.
