Dear Sreehari,

The undergraduate admissions in IITs are done through the Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced.

The post-graduate level programs are administered by the older IITs. Admission to Post-graduate programs of IITs is done through Common Admission Test (CAT), Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) and Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED).

Courses are offered by providing the students with the much more practical knowledge.
