How to prepare for cmat
Answers (2)
Hello,
CMAT stands for Common Management Admission Test. It is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year to facilitate institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs offered by AICTE approved institutions. CMAT, previously conducted twice a year, will be conducted only once a year (on 3rd Sunday of January) from academic year 2018-19 onwards.
CMAT Preparation Strategy
The paper can be split into three parts: concept driven, practice intensive and environment sensitive. Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation and select areas of Language Comprehension are concept driven. Questions on these areas are difficult to attempt without concept clarity and hence it is advised to brush up the key fundamentals in these areas. Logical Reasoning is a purely practice intensive section and the comfort level here is directly proportional to practicing across similar questions. General Awareness is environment sensitive and can be best prepared by a dichotomous approach, viewing the section as a make up of current and static awareness.

For CMAT preparation you can start solving the following reference books to begin with: Quantitative Aptitude by Arun Sharma and RS Aggarwal, For Data Interpretation you can refer to Verbal and Non Verbal reasoning from RS Aggarwal, for verbal ability you can refer to Arun Sharma and Minakshi Upadhyay's How to Prepare for Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension and for GK you can take any current GK books like Manorama yearbook and others. You can also refer to others reference books for similar practices.
Also you need to join a mock test series to check your level of preparation. These are provided by various coaching institutes like TIME, CL etc.
All the best!
