how to prepare for RC section ?
Hi Priya Ahuja ,
RC Reading Comprehension you mean i suppose, so the best way to do RC is to Solve atleast 2 - 3 RC daily and keep a record on how well you are performing and read some articles as well for instance you may read any english newspaper so that may improve your grab over English and you can easily understand what the author wants you to convey.
Now for Particularly CAT as you have not mentioned which exam are you preparing for , if CAT is the Case then take a set of 4 - 5 RC's and keep a deadline of an hour and then practise and also try to learn some new words daily and practise on improving your Vocabulary and do that daily it will surely help
Dear,
Since you are specifically focusing on RC, that clearly means it is a weak topic for you and something which you won’t be motivated to do. Such topics are best done as the first thing in the morning when you sit to study or during the peak of your performance cycle. This will ensure maximum focus from your side.Daily practice 4–5 RC passages in the beginning of your preparation, preferably from different genres. You can increase it later on to 6–8 whatever you feel like. Initially you can be liberal on yourself but practice time bound at a later stage. Arun Sharma will be perfect for theory and practice. Any coaching material will also do the job.Read to grasp the essence of the text. Put yourself in the shoes of the author and think what is he trying to convey. Sometimes articles may start with a complete abstract paragraph but will later take a theme. Identifying the central theme will mean you have won half the battle already. Next is to understand flow of key ideas in the passage. Once you have done this, only then move onto the questions.
There is nothing called total command. All you can hope is to increase your current level so as to bring the best in you.
Hope this helps!
