Your best bet is to know two things about each muscle: location and direction. That will clue you in to where they originate from and insert into, because there are many cases of muscles running right next to each other, sometimes inserting into the same place. You can make a pneumonic for the tough areas like the forearm, where you have 14+ muscles all around the ulna and radius, but other than that use flash cards and sort them by strength of how accurately you know them.
