How to understand the jee percentile ?? My percentile was 27.7633327

Percentile is based on relative score. It defines that you have performed better than that of that percent candidate who took the exam. For example if you get 40 percentile and suppose 1000 candidate appeared for exam than 40 percentile means that you have performed better than 40 percentage of candidate and 60 percentage have performed better than you. Than means you have better score than 400 students and 599 have done better than you.

Now for 27.7633 percentile you will have general rank around 640000 as 875000 took the exam.
