How tough is cat 2018 going to be?

There have been minor changes in the difficulty level of CAT in the last years. It depends on the institute (IIM) which has been assigned the responsibility to set the question paper and various other factors. So nothing can be said exactly about the difficulty level of the exam and it's best to prepare to your best of your ability for it.

Also since percentile is a relative phenomenon if the paper is difficult you will score a high percentile at a relatively lower score and vice versa.

CAT 2018 is going to be similar to CAT 2017. the IIMs are expected to continue with the existing exam pattern of the online MBA entrance exams. In 2017 CAT exam pattern, an important element was the easy difficulty level of Quantitative section. This was aimed at bringing more diversity to the IIM campuses as candidates with non-engineering background might score better as compared to past years where difficult quantitative section apparently helped candidates with Engineering background to score high.
