You haven't mention you're asking about general knowledge in reference to which exams, see for the static portion of GK best book is Lucent's GK, and for dynamic portion the best source is reading news on a daily basis,you can go through pratiyogota DARPA's which is an equally good magazine,and there are lot of sites in the Internet which provide monthly compilations which you can access.
