Hello,

CSAB 2026 counselling will be conducted after the JoSAA rounds are completed. It is meant to fill the vacant seats left in NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and GFTIs . IIT seats are not available through CSAB.

The process will be roughly as follows:

Fresh Registration: You must register separately for CSAB, even if you participated in JoSAA.
Fresh Choice Filling: Your JoSAA choices will not be carried forward.
You will have to fill a new list of colleges and branches.
Special Round 1 Allotment: Seats will be allotted based on your JEE Main rank, category, and choices.

Document Verification and Fee Payment: If allotted a seat, you'll need to upload documents and pay the required fee within the deadline.

Special Round 2 Allotment: Remaining vacant seats will be filled in the second round.

Reporting to the Institute: After the final allotment, you'll have to report to the allotted college and complete admission formalities.

One important thing: if you already have a JoSAA seat and get a new seat through CSAB, your previous JoSAA seat will be cancelled automatically. If you don't get a better seat in CSAB, your JoSAA seat remains safe.

CSAB is often a good opportunity because many students withdraw after JoSAA, causing cutoffs to drop in some branches and colleges.
