I actually belong to OBC-NCL category but due to my carelessness I have by mistake put GEN category in jee main application.

I am sorry to say, but if you have filled yourself as a general category student during the filling of application, then there is no way you can get your category changed at the time of counselling.

there is nothing you can do now, see after submitting application there must be some correction window open. but you were not aware of this, right now exam has done, results are out. so you need to sit in the counselling from general category.
please be careful in future when you are filling an application.
