i am 12th standard student from dehradun. looking forward to do bsc in sports and exercise science . But I don't have any sports background and i will join a sports club to be specific ( women's volleyball club) in your college after getting admission. without sports participate, am i still eligible for the admission. as i want to be strength and conditioning coach.
Hey there,
Yes — not having a sports background does not automatically make you ineligible for a B.Sc. in Sports and Exercise Science. The requirement depends on the university.
For example, Symbiosis School of Sports Sciences requires Class 12 with 50% (45% for SC/ST), while sports participation at International/National/State/District level is only described as “desirable,” not mandatory. Somaiya Sports Academy likewise accepts Class 12 students from Science, Arts or Commerce with 50% aggregate.
Your plan to join a women's volleyball club after admission is perfectly reasonable. You can also start strength training and learn the fundamentals of exercise science alongside your degree.
Thanks
Nischal
