i am a btech fresher joining this year.i dont know anything about college rather than i took admission in one.what is the nature of semester exams is it like boards or jee,plse give me a detailed explanation

Hello,
In colleges, every year is divided into two semesters of six months each. So, if youe course is of 4 years duration, then you will be having a total of 8 semesters during your Bachelor's course. Every semester has new subjects, and t the end of every semester, ther will be end semester exams. In between the semesters, there will be mid term exams, for each semester.
So, as you are from engineering college, your first year or the first two semesters will be comprising of subjects from general engineering such as Physics, Chemistry, maths, Electronics, etc which are the prerequisites and are common for every branch of engineering. You might also have programming in first year.
From the second year or the third semester, you woll start to have your core subjects based on your branch of engineering.
The last year of engineering in when students prepare for their placements and also work on their btech projects. They also need to do an internship in the last semester.
