I am a dropper for JEE; and for JEE 2021 I want to change my category from GEN to OBC as my family income is less than 8 lakh from last 3 years. Previously for all my certificate I wrote GEN category because I was not aware of the criteria for OBC category. So now can I change my category? IfYEShow

These are the corrections that can be made in your application form once filled-

• Candidates’ Name (as per class 10 ^th mark-sheet)
• Paper (change from Paper 1 to Paper 2 or vice versa or addition or removal of a paper)
• Date of Birth (as per class 10 ^th mark-sheet)
• Communication Address
• Contact Number
• Uploaded Photograph and Signature
• JEE Main exam center city preference

So, you can't change your category in the application form once already submitted.

When you fill the JEE mains 2021 form please be very careful and write the correct caste and upload the required documents to prove your caste. Because you already appeared for the exam earlier, you don't have to register yourself again. But while filling your category details in application form for 2020, please be very careful as there's no scope of correction if you make a mistake.

You won't face issues in changing your category if you have the required documents to support your claim. Your family's income statement is there to support you change your category.
