Look its simple, there is no fixed or rigid system on which IIM’s and other top institutes admit their students. Most of them have cutoffs that are not known to the general public and it keeps changing  nearly every year.

So its a simple decision, you cannot change your Class Xth / XIIth / Undergrad Percentage. But what you can do is work on the future and get the highest percentile you can.

This being said, I do understand the need of an aim / target which would help you gauge your performance and give you an idea where you actually stand and how much hard you still need to work to get to your desired B-Schools.

Based on historic data and your profile:

• IIM A : >= 99.5
• IIM B : >= 99.3 (Since historically a lot of weights has been given on 12th %)
• IIM C : >= 99.45
• IIM L : >= 99.1 ~ 99.2
• IIM K: >= 99.1
• IIM I: >= 99.1

These are general targets that you should try to accomplish and based on historic data and peers-interaction, I have put forth.

But , always remember that on the D-day if you knew for a fact that you've already crossed your target and still have 5 extra minutes, will you stop answering and just go home?

No, right!!

So, work hard, give your best and try to get the best possible marks you can.
