I am a neet dropper scored around 300 marks it was my first drop. I have been allotted EEE seat through kcet govt quota. My dream is to pursue mbbs, but I can't take full drop as my family is not convinced. So I am planning a partial drop with engineering and will appear in neet 2027 I have doubts if i get mbbs seat through neet 2027, can I discontinue my engineering course after first year? As per latest kea rules , I will have to pay discontinuation fees or penalty? I have also applied for kmdc education loan, if i later leave engineering after getting mbbs what will happen to the loan? Please guide me. This decision is very imp. Thank you
Hello Dear Student,
You can legally discontinue your engineering course after the first year if you secure an MBBS seat. However, KEA and the university may require you to surrender the remaining 3 years of your course fee, and your KMDC education loan will convert to an active liability requiring immediate repayment or refinancing.
Hope it helps!
