GATE 2018 will be conducted for 23 papers. Candidates can choose any of these papers, but it is generally advisable to appear in a paper that is in sync with your qualifying.
AE is included in the list of 23 papers. AE stands for Aerospace Engineering. So you have to appear for Aerospace Engineering (AE) paper.
