I am a student studying 9th class from 7th class in Odisha and I belong's to Andhra Pradesh and I will be a local or non local student in EAMCET if I continue studying Odisha till 10th class?
Hii tirumala!
Since you are originally from andhra Pradesh but you having studying in Odisha from class 7 onwards and now you are in class 9th with plans to continue in Odisha till class 10th. Your eligibility as a local or non local in AP EAMCET will depend on the rules which are laid down by the Andhra Pradesh state council of higher education (APSCHE).
As per the official eligibility criteria you will be considered as a local candidate if you have studied for 4 consecutive academic years in Andhra Pradesh including the year of qualifying examination which is class 12th or its equivalent.
Since yiu are already in studying in Odisha from class 7th and you want to continue there until class 10th, you aree not satisfying the conditions of completing classes 9 to 12 in Andhra Pradesh. It places you in non local category unless you shift back to Andhra Pradesh for your higher secondary education.
Otherwise if your parents have lived in Andhra Pradesh for atleast 10 years (excluding periods of service outside the state) , you can claim local status with proper proof.
So, in a nutshell if you continue your studies outside Andhra Pradesh till class 10th and possibly beyond you will not meet the local criteria and you will not be eligible as a local candidate in AP EAMCET. That means you will compete only for 15% unreserved seats which are open to all candidates.
So take your decision wisely. All the best!
