You can either do a B.Sc. (Bachelor in Science) or B.Tech. (Bachelor in Technology) in astrophysics. You can also opt for diploma courses in astrophysics after your 12th grade examinations. Under an astrophysics degree you cover concepts like celestial bodies and their physical and chemical properties, it also briefly explains the natural phenomenon occurring in the universe. You briefly study subjects like electromagnetism, relativity, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, newtonian dynamics, solid state physics, optics, quantum physics, waves, nuclear physics, atomic physics, modern physics etc.

Examinations which are conducted for admissions into this course include:

• For B.Sc. in Astrophysics there are specific university based examinations which you are required to give and along with them you might even have to give a personal interview or group discussion round.
• For B.Tech. you need to give national level examinations like GATE, JEST, JEE Mains, JEE Advance etc. and state level examinations like TS Eamcet, AP EAMCET, MHT CET, KCET etc. and university level examinations like BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE, Mahatma Gandhi University Entance Exam, Punjab University Entrance Exam, Aligarh Muslim University Entrance Exam, Indian Institute of Astrophysics Entrance Exam etc.
