Improvement exams are for those who want to improve their score. So you can sit for improvement exam next year to improve your marks. Or if you doubt that you are not going to pass in any 1 or more subjects then you can also give compartment exam next year. So you can improve your marks by giving improvement exam next year, you cannot sit for improvement exam in the same year.All the best
