Yes, you can try for IIT entrance irrespective of your category. It is meant for all the eligible students. There is some reservations for the seats but that does not eliminate the chances for general category students. Everything is right at its place. You have to work hard and excel in the exam. First you have to prepare for the JEE Mains and then after qualifying it you will be eligible for Jee advanced. Securing a good rank in Jee advanced will help you get a seat in IITs.
