I am from Kashmir and wish to get admission in CLASS X1 in AMU. When the admission process will start for 2026-27 session and what cut off usually remains in admission process
For admission to Class XI at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for the 2026–27 academic session, the admission process generally begins around February to March each year. AMU usually releases the official admission notification and application form during this period, and the entrance examination for Class XI is commonly conducted between April and May. Since you are from Kashmir, you can apply under the regular admission process, and if applicable, you may also be considered under the internal or special categories as per AMU rules.
Admission to Class XI at AMU is strictly based on performance in the AMU School Admission Test, followed by document verification and counselling. The cutoff marks vary every year depending on factors such as the number of applicants, difficulty level of the exam, category, and availability of seats. Generally, for the general category, the cutoff tends to remain on the higher side, often above 70–75 percent, while for reserved categories the cutoff may be relatively lower. It is advisable to aim for a strong score to improve your chances, as competition is quite high.
You should regularly check AMU admission notifications once they are released and keep your documents ready in advance. Proper preparation for the entrance test will play a key role in securing admission. All the best.
