I am getting nearly 100-110 marks in the examination held on 7th January shift2 . What would be my expected percentile as the paper was quite tough and lengthy too?
Hello dear,
Hope you are doing well.
As per the result of analysis of the jee main 2020 question paper by various coaching institutes and other career counselling websites then I think you have a chance of getting a percentile of above 95% as per your mentioned expected marks.
But that's the expected percentile only and every year it varies depending upon many deciding factors so you must wait for the official result before taking any further decision which will better help you with your career opportunities.

All the best.
Thank you!!
As we all know that now JEE Mains is conducted two times in a year so your rank will be based on both the attempts that is of january and april attempt. The best percentile will be considered and if you give only one exam then only that percentile will get considered.
Now lets try to calculate your percentile which is calculated according shiftwise Your percentile would be :
(No. of people having less than 160 marks in shift2/total number of students present in shift2)*100
If we consider last year data, your percentile with 110 marks can fall between 95.42678954 - 94.40128456. This percentile can vary according to change in number of appearing students or no. of people scoring less than you. As ypu said that the paper was didficult and lengthy, you may end up getting a bit higher score than mentioned above.
You can calculate your rank according to formula: 1+((100-P) * No. of total students appearing)/100)

I hope you are asking about JEE Mains examination 1st paper.
It's quite appreciable for scoring 100 - 110 in JEE Mains and since the paper was little tough, you have much possibility of getting a good percentile. Because in the recent years the percentile is calculated considering all aspects like toughness of paper, no. of candidates attempted, average marks etc... You can take the help of rank predictor to know your approx rank and percentile.
