I am going to drop for 2021 and I have givien boards in 2020. But due to different policies this year's 75% criteria was lifted for NITs and IITs. Will that be the case for 2021? If not it won't be justice to the droppers

Hi,
Due to the outbreak of covid 19 the relaxation in the minimum eligibility criteria of 75 % for admission to IITs and nits is givem only for the year 2020.
For 2021 the admission criteria has not been released yet. However there are chances that the 75% eligibility criteria will be there for admission in the year 2021.
It is a fact that you have given your boardd exam in 2020 so may be your marks get affected with the pendamic. The situation become complicated due to the pendamic. So any decision may have some pros or cons.
In this case what suggestion we could give you is to try 2 options -
Write an email or message to ministry of education or IITs and nits or nta mentioning your problem. If they feel your problem is conderable they can provide a solution to it.
The other option is if you have less percentage this year you can give improvement exam to increase the percentage.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hi aspirant,
Following are the eligibility criteria for getting admission through JEE(main+advanced).
- The candidate should have obtained a minimum of 75% or more aggregate marks in his/her class 12 board examination.
- Or he/she should be in the top 20 percentile list in his/her respective board.
But for this year on account of Covid19 pendemic this eligibility requirement has been scrapped and now candidates need only to obtain a passing certificate.
We cannot predict whether the same will be applicable for next year i.e. 2021 or not. It was decided to scrap the eligibility requirements to ensure that no any student gets disadvantaged in the prevailing conditions.
Hope I answered your query

Hello,
As of now the announcement has been made for the year 2020 only and that possibly due to the fact that CBSE wasn't able to conduct all the examinations.
So we can't say anything that whether it will be continued or not unless the authorities do not update regarding the same. But in my opinion the same criteria will be applied as you had given your board exam in 2020.
