I am good at arthimetic and some chapters of reasoning as well , pls tell me how to score 97 percentile in cat

Hi Sudheer! Firstly, there is no specific formula which can guarantee you an exact percentile. Now that you have approximately 4 months to CAT, you have to develop the preparation strategy accordingly. You mentioned that you are good at Arithmetic and Reasoning. So I am assuming that Verbal Ability is your weakness. So, along with regular practice in Quant and DI & LR, you have to dedicate a major amount of time for VARC preparation. Remember, B-schools look for a balanced performance in all the sections and a skewed percentile will minimise your chances.

In order to ensure a high score in all sections, you have to follow the below steps:

• Complete the syllabus or get conceptual clarity. Go back to basics with the Class X or XII level textbooks if required to get a complete grip over the subject.
• Take regular mock tests and analyse them. Take both sectional as well as full length mocks to understand where you stand. Getting them analysed is even more important. Take help of your mentors or seniors for the same.
• Consult your peers and fellow CAT takers. Many a time, a proper group study leads to various tricks which you may not have learnt otherwise.
• Visit different websites or portals offering discussions or online practices/mocks etc.
• Read newspapers regularly, preferably online, to not only improve your reading and comprehension skills but also to improve your Data Interpretation skills as well.

To crack CAT and score a percentile as high as 97, you need to be proficient in each section. You cannot afford to be weak or lose marks in any of them. I am listing a few resources. Please go through them, and know how to strengthen and work on each of the sections.

How to prepare for CAT VARC (Verbal and Reading Comprehension)

In order to prepare well, you need the best study material. You may join a coaching institute to aid your preparation and study from the material given by them. To get a better foothold of each section, taking sectional mock tests would be highly beneficial. I cannot stress on the significance of mock tests enough, especially the analysis of mocks.
