For UPSC civil services you can go for anyone of bsc or ba as per the eligibility criteria. But since the exam has majority portion is of arts like history, polity, geography etc so BA is considered more suitable for civil services. Also in interview they may ask you questions regarding switching from science to civil services as for science many other exams are there. But it's your choice totally.

You can give UPSC Exam after completion of any Undergraduate Course so it does not matter what you pursue at your undergraduate level either B.A. or B.Sc.

and if you want to choose the same subjects as that of UPSC you can go for B.A. as the subjects (History, Political Science, Geography, Economics) that are useful from the point of view of exam
