Hello Mohanish,
The fee for Open category in most NITs is almost the same structure: Admission fee (non refundable) is Rs 1000. Tuition fee is Rs 12000. Other fees including mess and institution fees amounts to Rs22000. So it is relatively cheap as it is Centrally funded. Whereas if you are pursuing Civil in private institutions then you need to pay 3-3.5 lpa. But you may avail scholarships based on class 12 boards performance or your JEE percentile.
