If you are interested in research field, pursuing higher studies is important. Yes, for your field of interest BSc Biotechnology would be a good choice for research field only if you are thinking msc in related field with further higher studies.

It's a demanding field in this post covid era.
Yes definitely I would suggest you to pursue biotechnology.
But you've to give 100% so that in future you can be a successful researcher as well as scientist.
