I am not able to understand the psychology courses offered by Banaras Hindu University. On the website it is specially showing that the university offers BA psychology, even on the list provided by nta for cuet 2026 . But when I dug deeper and went through the website of BHU i saw they have mentioned Bsc psychology , now I am very confused, if the University offers BSC psychology then does it conducts any other exam for it ?......also it was written on the website that BSc honour psychology under mmv section of psychology but when I went through the mmv website of BHU on that website under the science department there was no department of psychology and now I am confused because I am very clear that I want to pursue psychology that is science oriented.. Also I have seen the criteria of different institutions regarding Msc psychology and other brain related fields ..they want bachelors in science and psychology is even better ...and also when it is written like this Ba/Bsc psychology does that mean the university offers both and the syllabus is same for psychology doesn't matter the background whether it is arts or science..I am more interested in the brain aspect of it like neurons and all not just discussion and philosophies.. please help me understand it .
There is no separate exam for BSc Psychology. Both BA and BSc applicants must take the CUET UG exam . You should apply for the B.A. (Hons.) programme while filling the application form. You can choose between a "BA" or "BSc" during BHU counselling after your results are released. If you have a science background (Class 12th with PCB/PCM) and choose science based subjects alongside Psychology, BHU will admit you into a BSc (Hons) degree.
Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMV) is a college within the BHU main campus that is exclusively for women. In BHU's administrative structure, the Department of Psychology is under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The university offers a BSc degree, it is managed by the Social Science administration.
