I am planning to take the CUET in May 2026, but I've also registered for an important, onsite course starting on 27th May which cannot be postponed. If any of my CUET papers clash with the course start date, can I request NTA to reschedule my exam to earlier date/shift? Are such queries entertained?
Dear candidate ,
NTA does not usually entertain individual requests to reschedule CUET exam dates for personal reasons like courses or internships . Rescheduling is generally allowed only in exceptional cases such as medical emergencies , errors from NTA's side or clash with another national level exam like NEET or JEE and even then a valid proof is required .
You should wait for the official exam schedule and admit card release to check for any conflicts . If your subjects are scheduled before your course , there will not be an issue . Otherwise , consider contacting the course coordinator to explore flexibility on that end , as CUET dates are fixed once assigned .
Hello Ayesha,
No, the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not entertain individual requests to reschedule CUET exam dates or shifts for personal reasons, including academic courses or personal commitments.
Here are important points to note:
-
CUET exam dates and shifts are allotted centrally based on subject combinations, logistics, and centre availability. Once allotted, they cannot be changed on request.
-
NTA makes it clear in its information bulletins every year that no change of date/shift/centre will be permitted under any circumstances .
-
Only in cases of administrative errors or clashes within NTA exams themselves (for example, two CUET papers scheduled at the same time), NTA may take corrective action.
-
Personal requests, such as family events, internships, other courses, or travel, are not considered valid reasons for rescheduling.
If your course begins on 27th May, and CUET is expected to run till late May or early June (based on previous trends), you should plan assuming you may have exams scheduled on or after 27th May .
Suggestion: Choose your CUET subject combinations wisely, keeping in mind the possibility of exams being held across multiple days and shifts. Also, try to make arrangements with your course provider if flexibility is possible from their side.
I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
