Lieutenant is the rank given to the commissioned officer when they Join Indian Army. It is the lowest ranks of a commissioned officer. Now to become lieutenant You need to appear for NDA Exam when You will be in class 12th. NDA exam is organized by UPSC, twice a year, First in the month of April and second in the month of September. In the month of July August of your class 12th, You can apply for the September exam.

NDA consists of two paper one for Mathematics and other for General Knowledge and English. Mathematics part is similar to JEE Main level but easier than that, and the second paper has a vast syllabus.

Syllabus for Mathematics is as follows

Trigonometry, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, and Differential equations, Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions, Probability, Algebra, Vector Algebra, Matrices, and Determinants: Types of Matrices, Determinant of a matrix, Statistics.

Paper 2 This section comprises of two parts, i.e. Part A & Part B. The part A contains topics like English vocabulary, Grammar and usage, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English. Part B comprises of different topics from General Knowledge, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, History, Current Events & Geography.

Mathematics is for 300 Marks and other is for 600 Marks. You need to score around 260 to qualify this examination.

After qualifying this exam You need to appear for SSB interviews, which judges your personality, Your intelligence and interpretation skills followed by Psychological test and finally Medical test. SSB is considered to be the toughest part of Joining Indian Armed forces, At any level by any exam If you want to join the army as an officer then You must clear SSB. khadakwasla Pune and You will be awarded a degree from JNU, Delhi. After that, you will be given one Years training at Indian Military Academy Dehradun. Once You complete this Training you will become Officer from Gentlemen. You will be Given the Rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army.
