I appeared for but entrance and taken provisional admission. Can i opt out now and write entrance exam in 2020 for better ranking and branch

Hope you are doing well,
As you said you taken Admission provisional in college ,And now you want to write entrance exam in 2020,
this sounds good but it totally depende upon college criteria , but if either college is not good or your ranking is not good then you can surely opt out and prepare for 2020 entrance exam
