I completed 3sem by regular in thiruvallur university but I want to continue another 3sem by correspondence
Hello,
If you have completed 3 semesters as a regular student under Thiruvalluvar University, you generally cannot shift to correspondence mode for the remaining 3 semesters of the same degree. As per UGC and university norms, a degree has to be completed in one mode only—either fully regular or fully distance/correspondence. Mixing regular and correspondence modes in the same program is usually not permitted.
However, you can check two possible options:
1. Migration/transfer to another college under the same university in regular mode, if seats are available.
2. Fresh admission into a distance or correspondence program (you may have to start from the first year).
It is strongly advised to confirm this directly with Thiruvalluvar University’s academic or distance education department, as only they can give final written confirmation. All the best.
If you have completed three semesters as a regular student in Thiruvalluvar University and now want to continue the remaining three semesters through correspondence mode then you should know that this is not allowed under university and UGC rules. A single degree course must be completed in the same mode either fully regular or fully distance. You cannot shift from regular to correspondence in the middle of the course. In this situation you have two options. First you can continue the remaining semesters in regular mode from the same or another affiliated college. Second you can take fresh admission in a correspondence or distance education course but your earlier three regular semesters will not be counted and you will have to start again from the first semester. It is advisable to contact the university distance education department or the college office to confirm the latest rules before taking a final decision.
