With an OBC rank around 71k, getting top NITs/IIITs in popular branches like CSE or ECE is honestly very difficult. But you still have some options.

You can try for:
• Lower-demand branches in newer NITs/GFTIs
• State counselling colleges (especially with home state quota)
• Private universities like Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, The LNM Institute of Information Technology, or Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

CSAB special rounds can also help sometimes because cutoffs drop there.

So while top branches may be difficult, you still have decent college options if you plan counselling smartly.
