I got 48872 rank,so can I get seat in mech.engineering

We may not confirm that you would get a seat in VIT, as the seat allotment in the previous years are not in a favour for you. The closing rank for MECHANICAL at VELLORE campus were around 20,000 and for Chennai campus it would be around 35,000-40,000. So, the chances for you to get a seat aren't much good. You can better try for other colleges, based on your interest.
