i got 49% in 12th and 20marks in jee mains 2017 can i apply for mechanical engineering??

With this percentile you can not get admission in any good college.

Almost all Colleges give admission on basis of jee mains and with this marks it will be not possible even to qualify.

You need atleast 85 percentile in jee for qualifying and to get a good college 95+.

And also your 12 the percentage marks is also very low as you know competition is increasing day by day. You have to secure minimum 75 percetage marks in 12 th for the safe position.

So I would suggest you to work hard for the next year and concentrate on your own.

You can do anything.

Score of jee mains is only valid for one year. Since you have got 20 mark in 2017 , now it is of no use. For taking admission you need to appear in jee mains in april. And 20 marks is not enough to get any college across whole India. And for good college you need 75% in 12th.

So better is to appear for jee main 2019 and get good marks, so that you can get some private college.
