I got 490 marks in GATE CSE and I'm from general category. Is there any chance

If you are from General category then frankly speaking .. on this score it is very difficult to get in any NIT ..infact maybe no NIT.
I would suggest you the regional colleges.. or maybe you can try better in separate exams of IIITs... Some private colleges may also take this score..
If you just have to do M.Tech from any of the college then you may go for it. But if you really want some good college..then honestly..it would be better if you try again next year..you will get good score
