I got 56 %ile in mains & belong to general category, did i stand a chance to get admission to any good govt college after the april attempt

56 percentile is a bit low score to get admission into top government colleges. I would suggest you to prepare well and appear in april session so that you can improve your score and get a chance of securing a seat for yourself in good governemnt colleges (NITs, CFTIs, IITs, etc). Prepare well and work hard.
