In order to appear for MHTCET, candidates are require to pass/appearing 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject along with any one amongst Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical/Vocational subjects with 50% aggregate for UR, there is 5% relaxation offered to reserved and PwD candidates of Maharashtra, if you fulfill the subjects combinations along with the give aggregate, you are eligible to appear for MHTCET, there is no upper age limit to appear for this exam, for more details regarding this you may visit our page at https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/mht-cet-eligibility-criteria
MHT CET will be conducted in online mode for a duration of three hours with two sections in MCQs format, first one consists of mathematics in English language only and second one consists of physics and chemistry in English/Marathi/Hindi language, there is no negative marking scheme, there are a total of 150 questions, section one will have two marks for each correct answer and section two will have one mark for each correct answer.
The syllabus for three subjects are as follows;
Physics :Topics for XIth standard consists of Measurements,Scalars and Vectors,Force,Friction in solids and liquids,Refraction of Light,Ray optics,Magnetic effect of electric current, Magnetism and for XIIth standard the topics are Circular motion,Gravitation,Rotational motion,Oscillations,Elasticity,Surface tension,Wave motion,Stationary waves,Wave theory of light,Interference and diffraction,Electrostatics,Current electricity,Magnetism,Electromagnetic inductions,Electrons and photons,Atoms,Molecules and Nuclei,Semiconductors,Communication systems
Chemistry ; Topics of XIth standard includes Some basic concepts of chemistry,States of matter: Gases and liquids,Redox reaction,Surface chemistry,Nature of chemical bond,Hydrogen,s-Block elements (Alkali and alkaline earth metals),Basic principles and techniques in organic chemistry,Alkanes while for XIIth standard the topics are Solid State,Solutions and colligative,Chemical thermodynamics and Electrochemistry,Chemical kinetics-General principles and processes,p-Block elements,d and f Block Elements,Coordination compounds,Halogen derivatives of alkanes, Alcohols, phenols and ethers,Aldehydes, ketones and Organic compounds, Biomolecules,Polymers,Chemistry in everyday life.
Mathematics ; Topics of XIth standard includes Trigonometric functions,Trigonometric functions of Compound Angles,Factorization Formulae,Straight Line,Circle and Conics,Sets,Relations and Functions,Probability,Sequences and series while for XIIth standard the topics are Mathematical Logic,Matrices,Trigonometric functions,Pair of straight lines,Circle,Conics,Vectors,Three-dimensional geometry,Line Plane,Linear programming problems,Continuity,Differentiation,Applications of derivative,Integration,Applications of definite integral Statistics,Probability distribution,Bernoulli trials and Binomial distribution.
