No, it is unlikely you are able to secure a seat with a 5,000 rank this year. The SHRESHTA NETS scheme is designed to select 3,000 SC students each year for admission into classes IX and XI. With a 5,000+ rank, chances of allotment in the initial rounds are very slim. Even if you missed the initial cut-off, sometimes seats are vacated or left empty, and additional rounds are conducted. Monitor the official sites of the portal and get updates on counseling or re-allotment.
