Thanks for A2A brother
Well with EWS quota, you might be eligible for JoSAA counseling.
So if you are then I would strongly recommend you to go for JoSAA counseling and to fill as many options as you can. Getting acollege or not is a different thing but this will definitely help you to understand your standing better across the nation.
Regarding your drop, I believe it is a personal option. If you want to take a drop and willing to devote your entire year for JEE preparation and to turn your dreams to reality then sure go for the drop.
But in drop you have to promise yourself that you would devote your entire year for JEE preparation.
I'm myself a dropout and I've converted my 67k rank to 8k rank in JEE mains and in advanced 34k rank to 10k rank. So yes taking a drop do helps! :)
feel free to ask for any further query!

But if you want to drop then before taking that decision, seek some expert guidance from your parents and teachers. They know you better than us and they can guide you in the correct way. So choose your way wisely as your future depends on it.
All the best
Thank you
