Hello,
Let me clear the situation.
First of all candidates need to have a minimum of 75% marks(General Category) in class xii cbse board or be in top 20 percentile your class xii.
For SC/ST candidates ,the eligibility criteria is to secure 65% marks in class xii.
So, i feel sorry if you are belonging to general category,if belonging to reserved category then you can easily appear in JEE MAINS and further JEE ADVANCE.
And yes if you are not fulfiling the above criteria, then please don't loose hope,IIT's are not the end of the world.
Just cheerup, apply for other engineering colleges, take admission there in your desired branch.
No Worries
There are many options waiting for you.
Hope this helps
All the Best

For appearing in JEE ADVANCED and taking
admission in IITs, the candidate should have :
- Secured 75% aggregate marks in 10+2 with science stream for GENERAL and OBC CATEGORY CANDIDATES ( 10% relaxation for SC/ST and PWD students )
- Should be in the top 20 percentile of his/her boards.
If you fulfill any of the criteria above, then you are eligible to take admission in IITs.
All the best
The minimum qualifying marks of an IIT is 75% aggregate in PCM. So if it matches your criteria you can get an admission into a IIT through JEE Advanced exam.
Thank you.
