i got less marks in 1 subject, i just pass it ,should i go for improvement exam ...for that subject to get admission in best colleges...

As you haven't mentioned regarding what type of college admissions are your concerns , I will relate to your probablity . If you have scored less in one subject in 11th grade , it is not going to affect your career prospectus in any way . Most of the colleges in India , consider 10th and 12th grade marks if necessary , others filter candidates on the basis of interviews or entrance test . So if you are concerned about your less marks in a single subject , comming to churn your career then you need not worry . But the syllabus of class 11th is of supreme importance , both for 12th and higher grade and entrance exams . If you feel , you have neglected to cover up certain portions and wish to make amends for the same you can go for an improvement exam . But if you feel , the subject isn't that important keeping an eye on your career , I suggest not to go for an improvement exam . Moreover you can even cover up concepts in 12th .
Comming to the next probablity of getting admission to 12th . Most of the schools and colleges consider a student eligible to continue for higher secondary course once he or she has passed 11th grade . Less or more marks Won't make a difference . The difference would have arrived if you would have failed in a subject . I would have suggested you to go for improvement exam . But In this case , as you have mentioned that you didn't perform well but you managed to pass , I feel you should not go for improvement test . Again if you on your part feel the subject to be important them you can wish to do the same .
It would have been more precise if you would have mentioned regrading the subject you scored less .
