I graduated last year from recognized university got passed certificate as well. But in class 12 th i had 6 subjects but i passed 5 subjects and 6 th subject which i failed became my optional subject, and it remained as NA grade in my marksheet but the final result column is PASSED with B grade got PASSED CERTIFICATE. I want to give govt bank exams. Will the bank reject me during document verification because of failed optional subject despite passing 12 th grade overall and completing graduation?
Hey there,
No — based on what you described, your Class 12 optional-subject failure should not by itself make you ineligible for government bank exams, provided your Class 12 certificate/marksheet officially shows “PASS” and you have subsequently completed a recognized graduation degree.
For major exams such as IBPS PO/MT and SBI PO, the essential educational qualification is generally graduation from a recognized university, not passing every individual Class 12 subject. For example, IBPS requires candidates to produce their graduation marksheet/certificate at document verification.
Your situation is:
- Class 12 had 6 subjects.
- You passed the required subjects.
- The failed subject became an optional/additional subject and is shown as NA.
- Your final result says PASSED.
- You received a Class 12 pass certificate.
- You subsequently completed graduation from a recognized university.
That is substantially different from someone whose Class 12 result itself says FAIL/COMPARTMENT.
Thanks
