I had filled general category during neet registration but now i have my valid state issued caste certificate so can i change my category during state counselling not for mcc?
Hello Dear Student,
Yes, it is possible in many states, but it depends on your state's counselling rules.
If you filled General in the NEET-UG application but now have a valid state-issued caste certificate , some state counselling authorities allow you to claim state reservation during state quota counselling , provided you meet the state's eligibility rules and submit valid documents. This is separate from MCC (15% AIQ) , which follows the category declared for NEET and its own rules.
However, not every state permits changing the category during state counselling . Some states specifically do not allow a change from General/Open to a reserved category after the application deadline, while others permit category verification or updates during counselling as per their admission rules.
Hope it helps!
