No, you don't need to register freshly
NTA will open the one-time facility to make corrections in JEE Main 2019 application form (April session) on March 11 till 15. Using the application form correction facility of JEE Main, candidates can correct a host of details in the application form, except for the change in exam cities.
Category:According to information, candidates will be able to change their category from SC/ST/Girls/PwD to General/OBC NCL. An additional fee might be charged

If you genuinely belong to ST category then you can change it for JEE Main April Exam. Otherwise, you will land in a problem if you are general and try changing your category to SC/ST or OBC because you have to submit original caste certificates whenever the authorities will ask you to like during Counselling process.

You can get into a serious trouble if you attempt to do so . It is advice to give the exam in a normal way without any alteration.
