Looks like your GATE Score is too low but "your Hope is Still Alive"! following are some NIT's you can get with 261.

1.NIT, Kurukshetra

2.NIT, Delhi

3.NIT, Surathkal(You Can give it a try)

Next thing that may Strike your mind is that Which Is Better NIT among these 3, Here comes the answer.

NIT, Delhi>NIT, Surathkal>NIT, Kurukshetra

For your 261 gate score in ECE you have very low chances to get any IITs, NITs, or PSUs. So better for you is to reappear for gate with full preparation next year.
